At a special meeting announced only three days earlier as a “Project Iron
Spur/Data Center Discussion,” the Rural Hall Town Council voted 3-1 to replace Resolution 901,
withdraw the town’s opposition, and support the proposed data center. Residents were not allowed to
speak before the vote.

The Planning Board voted 7-2 to recommend denial of rezoning case F-1669. The
recommendation is advisory; the case proceeds to the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners for final
action.

Rural Hall Town Council revised its resolution opposing the proposed project
and removed language that had outlined conditions if the project moved forward. Several residents
spoke in favor of making the resolution purely oppositional.

This was the original date expected for the rezoning hearing. The rezoning case has been deferred
and is now expected to continue at the May 14 Planning Board meeting rather than April 9. Residents
can still attend this meeting on the 9th to make their opposition known.
